Kannauj: A major accident occurred due to a collision between a private sleeper bus and a truck in Kannauj, UP. Many people are feared dead in this accident. However, the information related to this has not been found yet. It is being said that a fire broke out in both the vehicles after a collision from the front.
Several people were severely scorched in a fierce fire after a private sleeper bus and truck collided near Sirohi village in Chibramau police station area of Kannauj district in Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, nine bodies have been removed from the bus so far. Police said fire engines have been sent on the spot to control the fire.
Kannauj District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar said that there were about 43 people in the bus. In this accident, 21 people have been admitted to the hospital. The fire has been completely controlled. Many people who are found now are being searched. Only after getting the complete data will the correct situation be told.
Kannauj Superintendent of Police (SP) Amarendra Prasad Singh said that 20 people are feared killed in the accident while 21 people have been rushed to hospital in critical condition. Among them, about 10 to 12 people jumped to save lives from the burning bus. He said that there is no exact information about the number of dead. Police said that there were about 45 passengers in the bus, the bus was going from Farrukhabad to Jaipur.
Yogi Adityanath announced financial aid
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed his ministerial colleague Ramnaresh Agnihotri to reach the spot immediately and sought a report from Kannauj District Magistrate about the accident. The Chief Minister announced Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and announced financial assistance of fifty fifty thousand rupees to the injured. He said that this is a very unfortunate incident. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
Meanwhile, Kanpur Inspector General of Police Mohit Aggarwal said that 21 people have been rescued and have been admitted to the hospital. Efforts are being made to contact his family members. SP Kannauj told that the fire has been controlled and the rescue work is going on. The injured were admitted to the district hospital and medical college.
State Director General of Police OP Singh said in Lucknow that it seems that there was an explosion in the diesel tank and because of that the bus caught fire. The DGP said that our priority is to save the passengers. Senior officers are present on the spot. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police to go to the spot immediately and asked for all kinds of medical assistance to the injured.
Expressing grief over the incident, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “The tragic news of untimely death of many precious lives was found in a horrific collision in a bus-truck in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh.” May God grant the departed souls a place in their shrines and give the family the strength to bear this intense suffering.
